In the Midst of New Dimensions

In the Midst of New Dimensions was inspired by a wonderful fabric I found on Spoonflower.com, where I get and where I design my custom fabrics. It was a lovely rainbow stained glass pattern with a white cross on top of it. As I am searching to do rainbow stoles which are a little different than the standard rainbow stripe and tell more complex theological stories, this completely enchanted me, and I immediately ordered several yards of it for the prototype stole. I ended up leaving this fabric plain and just adding an appliqué cross matching the one on the fabric, and keeping the stole, which has a complex design, simple. Not to mention the price down.

In the Midst of New Dimensions stole is $80. Order

In the Midst of New Dimensions was written by ordained Methodist minster Julian Rush, for the 1985 Rocky Mountain Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church, to celebrate the theme of diversity.  It has been also heavily used by other denominations, notably the United Church of Christ.

We are man and we are woman, all persuasions, old and young,
Each a gift in your creation, each a love song to be sung.
God of rainbow, fiery pillar, leader where the eagles soar,
We your people, ours the journey, now and evermore!
